CHAPTER 11 - CONCERNING WOKE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS
It only remains now to speak of woke social media platforms. All of the difficulties with them occur prior to gaining traction because they are acquired either by viral trends or cancel culture, and they can be held without either; for they are sustained by the modern dictates of social justice. These dictates are so powerful, and of such character that the platforms may be held no matter how their moderators behave and censor. These moderators alone have echo chambers and do not allow dissent. They have users and do not permit wrongthink. The echo chambers, although unguarded, are not taken from them. The users although not permitted wrongthink, do not care, and they have neither the desire nor the ability to rebel. So only such platforms are secure and happy. But being supported by powers, to which the rational mind cannot reach, I shall speak no more of them, because, being created and maintained by the Woke, it would be the act of a proud and foolish man to discuss them.
Nevertheless, if any one should ask of me how it happens that woke social media platforms have attained such greatness in online influence, seeing that in the early days of the internet, tech leaders have not placed much value on social justice dictates – yet now a major corporation trembles before them, and they have been able to drive it to censor dissent, and to ruin the reputations of dissenters – although this may be very obvious, it seems worthwhile to describe it again.
Before Elon, CEO of Twitter, came into social media, the platform was under the control of the Wokes, the Libs, the Leftists, the SJWs, and the Snowflakes. These groups had two principal anxieties: the first, that no conservative opinions should enter Twitter, and the second, that none of themselves should seize others' tweets. Those about whom there was the most anxiety were the Wokes and the Libs. To restrain the Libs, the union of all the others was necessary, as it was for the defence of safe spaces. To keep down the Wokes, they made use of the trolls of 4chan. They consisted of two groups, the Shitposters and Memelords, who always had a reason for disorder, and, standing with memes in their hands under the eyes of the Wokes, kept the Wokes weak and powerless. And although there might sometimes be a courageous Woke, yet neither fortune nor wisdom could rid them of these problems. In addition, the short attention span of a Wokes is also a cause of weakness, because in the ten minutes, which is the average attention span of a Wokes, they can with difficulty reduce the power of only one of the groups. And if, for example, the Memelords were almost destroyed, another group would arise hostile to the Shitposters, who would support the Memelords, but they would not have time to ruin the Shitposters. This was the reason why the online powers of the Wokes were not highly regarded on social media.
This however was not so in the time of Elon, CEO of Twitter. Of all the tech leaders that have ever been, he showed how a CEO with both money and corporate power was able to succeed. With the help of his followers, the Memelords and Shitposters, and by reason of the entry of conservative opinions into Twitter, he brought about all those things which I have discussed above in the actions of the trolls of 4chan. And although his intention was not to benefit the Wokes, nevertheless, what Elon did contributed to the greatness of free speech on the platform, which, after his acquisition and the ruin of safe spaces, gained the benefit of all his labours.
